About the piece
The Quiet Horizon
Columba went to Iona and did not come home. Tradition insists he had sworn never to set foot on Irish soil again, and that when he was needed at a synod in Meath he attended blindfolded with sods of Scottish turf tied to his feet. A man keeping the letter of an exile he had chosen.
The Quiet Horizon faces the direction he was not looking.
How the artwork is made
Modern tools. Irish creative direction.
