The Atlantic Warrior
The western seaboard was never the edge of anything. For the people who lived along it the Atlantic was the road — out to the islands, down to Iberia, out to whatever came next, with goods and ideas moving in both directions long before Rome. This crowned figure is imagined rather than a reconstruction of anyone named.
The Atlantic Warrior is not looking at a boundary. He is looking at the beginning of everything that would be carried away, and later carried back.
