Irish churches were built east to west, and the dead were laid facing east, so that everyone in the ground was pointed at the sunrise. It made every graveyard a piece of astronomy, and it means the evening light always comes at these stones from behind.
Cross at Sunset catches a monument built for the morning, standing in the wrong light and looking better for it.
