Across the Atlantic
There are Celtic crosses in Queens, in Boston, in Chicago — raised by people who had left and were not going back, over graves of people who never saw Ireland at all. The emigrants took the one shape that said where they were from and put it where they had ended up.
Across the Atlantic is not a symbol out of place. It is a symbol doing precisely the job it was given.
