The Silver Weave
Almost everything the early Irish made has gone. Wood rotted, cloth perished, most of the vellum burned. What we have is what was cut into stone — which is why the national imagination runs to carved surfaces rather than painted ones. Stone was never the finest medium. It was the one that lasted.
The Silver Weave survives on the only material that agreed to remember.
